Prior to opening her own law office, she worked several years in private practice. During law school, Attorney JD interned at Catholic Charities where she assisted victims of domestic violence obtain relief under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). She was selected to intern for the Department of Justice at the Houston Immigration Court out of a large pool of applicants. Her past legal experience has taught Jasmit to have the utmost compassion and empathy for clients dealing with difficult experiences.

Leticia David is a paralegal who is fluent in Spanish and has seven years of experience in the field. From 2015 to present, she has worked as a paralegal for the Law Office of JD. She completed her Associates of Applied Science in Criminal Justice in 2005. In 2009, she received her General Practice Paralegal certificate from Kaplan College.
Her duties include meeting with clients, drafting pleadings, and keeping clients informed of the status of their cases. Leticia has assisted in the preparation and filings of immigration, family and civil petitions. Leticia attends legal education events on a regular basis.
Prior to joining Law Office of JD, Sara Diaz obtained her Associates of Applied Sciences in Legal Studies in 2017. Initially, she was pursuing Child Development and Education in 2014 where she worked as Pre-School Associate Teacher, from there she found that her true desire was the Legal Field, which motivated her to change her career path.
She enjoys her work in the various areas of law, including but not limited to, Immigration, Family and Criminal Law. She understands that many clients are facing difficult siuations and strives to make each client feel assured by providing attentive care to each case. In addition, Sara is also a member of the Dallas Area Paralegal Association where she attends events for Paralegals furthering professional career development.
On a personal note, Sara’s favorite things include mochas, books, visiting new places and going to car shows. In past years she has participated in Race for the Cure of Susan G. Komen.
Melissa received her B.A. in Communication in 2004 from Dallas Baptist University where she graduated with honors
Previously, Melissa has worked for a company contracted by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification. It was here that she developed a passion for immigration and an interest in how it and other aspects of the law work together to impact people’s lives.
Melissa enjoys helping others achieve their goals and works hard to see that these goals become a reality. In addition to working with DOL, she has volunteered with hospice, wildlife rehabilitation, worked in a business expansion role for a Chamber of Commerce and currently sits on the board of a non-profit company.
Outside the Law Offices of JD, Melissa loves to travel and is an avid reader.
